Residential Solar Maintenance

Warranties

Warranty Overview

Solar product warranties help protect your investment by providing support when equipment develops a covered defect.

Typically offered by manufacturers, warranties cover defects in materials or manufacturing for components such as solar panels, inverters, and batteries. Depending on the terms, the manufacturer may repair or replace faulty equipment, although labor, shipping, and removal or reinstallation costs may not be included.

The main difference between product and service warranties is what they protect: product warranties cover the equipment, while service or workmanship warranties generally cover the quality of installation or repair work.

Understanding these protections helps you anticipate potential expenses and choose equipment with confidence.

Product Warranty

Each product has a set warranty determined by the product manufacturer.

Arch guarantees a 5 year workmanship warranty for issues related to our workmanship.

Arch's Workmanship Warranty

Arch Solar offers a 5 Years Workmanship Warranty for solar systems installed by Arch.

We will address issues directly related to Arch's solar installation. Even better, within the first year of your system installation, we will not charge a labor fee for corrective maintenance related to your installation.

Beyond the first year, we will defer to individual product warranties, but we can certainly help create a scope of work that services the issue at hand. Our trained technicians can handle almost any problem.

Please note, our workmanship warranty can be nullified if a third party does major work on (or impacts) your solar system. For example, if another company performs removal and reinstallation of panels, that may void your Arch Workmanship Warranty.

Arch is committed to quality craftsmanship, and our workmanship warranty backs our promise to install your system with technical expertise and precision.

What is Covered By My Manufacturer vs. Arch Solar?

Example Issue & Warranty Coverage

A powerful storm drops a tree branch onto your system, impacting the panel and inverter.

Arch starts by checking with your panel manufacturer AND inverter manufacturer to see what is covered for each.

Some manufacturers cover partial labor to lighten the labor cost on your end.

Using the warranty coverage, we create a scope of work for parts and labor to fix your system.

Manufacturer

A manufacturer-specific warranty is related directly to the component.

Manufacturer warranties can:

  • Provide coverage for specific equipment and components
  • Occasionally cover labor or partial labor costs associated with a service
  • Determine the amount of coverage and how long the warranty will be in service

Arch Solar

Arch services issues related to your whole system.

We have the talent and resources to fix any error for any component, and we can often fix multiple issues at the same time.

When you work with our team, the benefit is that we communicate with the manufacturer of each component to understand your project scope, what the service will cost, and how quickly we can be on site to fix it.

What Does a Warranty Ticket Look Like?

1.) Contact Arch regarding the issue. (Through our Arch Solar App or Contact Form)

2.) If you are an Arch customer, we will look up the warranty coverage for each component that needs service.

If you are not a customer, we will request a 'system adoption' to remotely access your warranty and coverage documents. If you do this, you will still have access as well! Arch will review your system on the backend while you still maintain ownership.

3.) Arch evaluates the issue and how each component's warranty coverage will apply. A benefit of working with Arch is that we handle the communications with each manufacturer.

4.) If the flawed component is under warranty, we work on replacing the component and provide a scope of work for labor costs.

If the component(s) are out of warranty, we can still service the issue, but we will create a freestanding scope of work quote for you to approve.

5.) Once the scope of work is signed, we schedule the repair with our trained technicians. Our goal is to get on site as soon as possible.

6.) Whether you are an original Arch customer or newly working with us, once we service anything, you will have access to our 24/7 monitoring portal.
