Our Vision

In 2003, Master Electrician Ed Zinthefer was convinced of solar energy’s future while working to make his family farm more sustainable.
Zinthefer started Arch Electric on his farm in Sheboygan County, where he began installing solar for his neighbors and eventually expanded to homes and businesses across Wisconsin.
Since our humble beginning, we’ve become leaders in the solar industry and are paving the way for renewables in Wisconsin.
We are firm believers in handshake ethics and have a diverse staff of trusted, licensed, NABCEP-certified solar experts with over 100 years of combined experience.
Our History
Founding Arch
Arch Electric, Inc. is founded in the basement of Ed & Mindy Zinthefer's farmhouse.
First Certification
Ed Zinthefer becomes one of the first NABCEP Board Certified PV Installation Professionals in the country.
Commercial Solar
Our first commercial job with Maywood Environmental, a city-owned park and ecology center in Sheboygan, WI.
Milwaukee Group Buy
Our Milwaukee Group Buy Program successfully installs dozens of arrays on residential homes in the span of one year.
Southeast WI Group Buy
We partner with Greening Greater Racine and the Great Lakes Community Conservation Corps for the Southeast Wisconsin Solar Group Buy Program, installing 24 arrays.
Ikea Rooftop Solar
We install a 1.52MW system on the WI IKEA store rooftop, earning an Excellence in Quality and Safety designation by REC Solar.
Butter Solar
The Butter Solar Portfolio introduces Arch Electric as a prevalent electrical contractor dedicated to utility solar.
Milwaukee Office
We opens our second office in Milwaukee after servicing the area for 15 years.
Full Service EPC
The Mendota Project launches Arch Electric as a full-service mechanical contractor.
Drone Capability
We invests in topographical mapping and infrared imagery analysis via drone.
Madison Office
We open an office in Madison, expanding our access to service this location of solar growth in Wisconsin.
The Mastodon Portfolio
Arch Electric bolsters its statewide reach with the Mastodon Portfolio, working as the general contractor.

To service our clients at the level that works best for them, Arch is divided into four primary business units. The Arch Solar teams services both residential and commercial customers across southeastern Wisconsin. Working nationally, Arch Electric is a top-rated solar EPC, providing renewable energy for utility-scale projects. Arch O&M provides operational support and maintenance for commercial and utility-scale solar, handling monitoring, maintenance, repairs, and representation.
