Arch Electric, Inc., based in Plymouth, Wisconsin, earned recognition as a 2020 Top Solar Contractor by Solar Power World, an industry publication covering solar news and developments. The award highlighted the company’s growing installation volume, expanding workforce, and commitment to advancing renewable energy throughout Wisconsin.
Arch ranked 95th nationally on the 2020 list, moving up 94 positions from its 189th-place ranking in 2019. This improvement placed the company among the nation’s top 100 solar contractors and reflected a substantial increase in its standing within the industry. The release also reported that Arch was Wisconsin’s second-largest contractor during the preceding year, with more than 14 megawatts installed.
The company’s workforce grew alongside its project activity. Arch expanded from 60 employees to 78, adding 18 positions as it increased its capacity to serve customers and support renewable energy development. This growth accompanied the installation performance recognized in the national rankings.
Solar Power World develops its Top Solar Contractors list annually to recognize companies working across utility, commercial, and residential solar markets. Rankings are based on the number of kilowatts installed during the previous year. The publication also organizes companies by state, market, and service category, including developers, electrical subcontractors, engineering and construction providers, installation subcontractors, and rooftop installers.
Arch Electric President Ed Zinthefer welcomed the recognition and emphasized the company’s continued investment in Wisconsin. He connected Arch’s expansion with its commitment to delivering quality projects and helping increase renewable energy adoption across the state.
Solar Power World Senior Editor Kelsey Misbrener noted that the 2020 list featured more than 400 companies, recognizing strong installation results from 2019 during an unprecedented period. Overall, the announcement presented Arch’s higher ranking and employee growth as evidence of its expanding role in Wisconsin’s solar industry and its continued focus on quality, investment, and renewable energy development statewide.
