Dominion Properties

More Information

Building owner Dominion Properties wanted to transform the brick wall of one of the largest office buildings in Shorewood, Wisc., into a valuable asset. The result is an innovative 83 ft vertical solar array on the side of the seven-story building. Tenants of that building can look forward to a reduction in their annual energy bills: the solar array is forecast to produce approximately 58,000kWh annually – equivalent to the annual energy use of six homes.

Bliffert Hardware with solar panels

Bliffert Hardware

More Information

Bliffert Lumber and Arch Solar partnered to design a custom solar solution that is “Winter Ready.” The array consists of 114, 450 watt bifacial solar panels at a 23° Tilt to maximize winter production regardless of snow cover. Not to mention it was installed in January! The solar
array will produce an impressive 63,648 kWh and offset 54% of Bliffert’s electrical
consumption. The available roof space hit a sweet-spot in system size that will drive a sub 4 ½ year ROI.

Solar panels on roof of Emmanuel Methodist Church

Emmanuel Church

More Information

The solar system, installed by Arch Solar, consists of 118 solar panels and is anticipated to offset roughly  60% of the church’s annual electrical needs. “When evaluating layouts, Emmanuel decided to go with a  “Wisconsin design to make the most of the winter sun and snow shedding,” said Andrew Holmstrom, C&I Solar Energy at Arch Solar. “This system will shed snow quicker, produce in low light conditions, and  crank out power in the winter as well as the summer.”

Hunger Task Force

More Information

The installed 89-kilowatt, 165 panel solar array is projected to produce 125,000 kWh annually, which equates to nearly 20% of Hunger Task Force’s overall energy consumption. Over the 30-year lifespan of the solar array, the organization is expected to save a significant amount, totaling $8,258 in annual energy savings or an impressive $308,255.

Wauwatosa City Hall

More Information

A 389 kW solar array installed on the rooftop of Wauwatosa City Hall, Wisconsin’s is providing energy equivalent to 55% of the city complex’s total annual use, reducing carbon emissions by 358 tons.

IKEA

More Information
IKEA has installed a solar array on top its new 290,000-square-foot store in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. The 1.6-megawatt array is expected to provide between 20% and 50% of the power needed for the store, producing more than 2 million kilowatts of electricity annually. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported this system, which includes 4,716 solar panels, to be the largest rooftop solar power project in Wisconsin.
