The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor and operational partner to company leaders, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, talent development, organizational effectiveness, and compliance. This position partners with field leadership, operations, finance, and recruiting to align people strategies with business objectives while fostering a high-performance culture built on ARCH Electric’s Core Values.

 

The HRBP is expected to proactively identify organizational challenges, coach managers, improve employee

engagement, and support the company’s continued growth throughout Wisconsin, Illinois, and other operating markets.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Talent Management

  • Partner with HR Manager to develop recruiting strategies for field and professional positions.
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for exempt, professional, and leadership roles as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain succession plans for key positions.
  • Coordinate onboarding and new leader integration.
  • Coach managers on interviewing, candidate selection, and hiring decisions.
  • Identify high-potential employees and partner with leadership on career development.
  • Facilitate leadership development programs and internal training initiatives.
  • Assist in workforce planning to ensure staffing aligns with business demands.
  • Monitor retention trends and recommend strategies to improve employee engagement and retention.
  • Support internship, apprenticeship, and university partnership initiatives.

 

Employee Relations

  • Coach managers through employee performance and conduct issues.
  • Conduct workplace investigations.
  • Resolve employee concerns while minimizing legal and organizational risk.
  • Provide guidance on ADA, PWFA, FMLA, accommodations, and leave administration.
  • Draft and review corrective actions, performance improvement plans, and separation documentation.
  • Foster positive employee relations and reinforce ARCH Electric’s Core Values.

 

Performance Management

  • Lead the annual performance review process.
  • Coach managers on delivering effective feedback and performance conversations.
  • Develop SMART goals and performance development plans.
  • Monitor completion and quality of performance evaluations.
  • Identify organizational training needs based on performance trends.

 

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws.
  • Support prevailing wage and apprenticeship compliance initiatives.
  • Maintain HR records and documentation.
  • Partner with Payroll on employment-related compliance matters.
  • Assist with policy interpretation and implementation.
  • HR Programs & Projects
  • Support compensation reviews and salary benchmarking.
  • Coordinate employee engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with benefits communications and open enrollment.
  • Participate in HR technology and process improvement projects.
  • Develop and update HR policies and procedures.

 

Strategic Partnership

  • Provide HR guidance to assigned business leaders.
  • Participate in workforce planning discussions.
  • Support organizational change initiatives.
  • Analyze workforce trends and recommend practical people solutions.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

 

Bachelor’s Degree in:

  • Human Resources
  • Business Administration
  • Organizational Leadership
  • Related field

 

Preferred experience and/or training:

 

Required:

  • 5+ years progressive HR experience
  • 2+ years advising managers
  • Employee relations investigations
  • Performance management
  • Employment law compliance

 

Preferred:

  • Construction industry
  • Renewable energy
  • Multi-state employer
  • Prevailing Wage experience

 

Experience with:

  • HRIS
  • Payroll systems (Paycor preferred)
  • Microsoft Excel (Advanced)
  • Microsoft 365
  • Applicant Tracking Systems
