Eric Neusen, an Arch Electric customer, installed a 7.26kW ground mount system in September 2018. Through the use of monitoring software, he was able to detect something strange with his system during our (very) snowy Wisconsin winter. He actually saw an increase in production.
TMJ4’s, Jesse Ritka met with Neusen to discuss this phenomenon. The 8% increase in production Neusen saw was due to snow having a high albedo, or reflectivity. The snow reflects more of the sunlight back on to the panels, causing the increase in production. Check out TMJ4’s entire interview here.
