Environment and Economy Driving Forces in Solar Project
Van Horn Automotive Group is a family born, employee-owned automotive group founded in 1966. Starting with just one Chevrolet dealership, the company has grown to include 18 automotive dealerships, a finance company, a real estate business, and several insurance companies. Current owners understand that even the smallest decisions the company makes ultimately affect their enterprise economically, as well as their community.
When building their new Hyundai dealership in Sheboygan, they knew they had an opportunity to be a part of something larger by adding solar to their new construction.
Arch Integrates Installation with New Construction
Arch Electric designed a system that would pay for itself quickly and continue to save the dealership substantial money on their electric bill for decades to come.
To help offset project cost, Arch Electric helped Van Horn secure the Renewable Energy Competitive Incentive Program (RECIP) Business Incentive solar grant offered through Wisconsin’s Focus on Energy Program.
The 26 kW, grid-tied system was roof-mounted on the Southeast corner of the new dealership, fully exposed to Northbound Highway 43 drivers.
Full-Service Project Included Grant Application Assistance
Arch Electric is well educated on grants and financing options available for all client types in the state of Wisconsin. Van Horn’s Hyundai dealership was able to secure to a Focus on Energy RECIP grant. This grant helped offset the project costs and shortened the return on investment for Van Horn to 2.9 years!
“Arch Electric was awarded this project because they provided the best price, most comprehensive proposal, and offered grant-writing services. Further, their reputation is excellent. From the first step to the completed project, Arch handled every step with accuracy and professionalism. We look forward to completing more projects in the future with Arch Electric.”
