HSE Specialist

The purpose of this position is to ensure the health, safety, and environment (HSE) at Arch Electric, Inc. The responsibilities involve examining the workplace for environmental or physical factors that could affect employee health, safety, comfort, and performance. Reducing risk and assuring Arch’s MVVS by “Creating a safe work environment to ensure, that at the end of the day, our team makes it home to their family.” Opportunities for advancement.

Position Data:

  • Full-time position. Office located in Plymouth, WI
  • Onsite inspections to be conducted weekly, per job location. (Average of 3-6 visits per week, likely requiring 3 days on-site per week.)
  • Salary: $40k-$90k Annual with Opportunities for Advancement (based on education & experience)

Principal Duties:

  • Maintain Confidentiality
  • Provide assistance to project management and operations in compliance and communication of HSE Programs and Procedures
  • Provide communication and support to project management and operations
  • Provide communication to owners, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Manage implementation of HSE accounts and systems
  • Maintain records and reports
  • Distribute records and reports to project management
  • Communicate project information
  • Organize project documentation
  • Develop HSE alerts, memos, and topics
  • Schedule meetings
  • Develop and distribute course agendas, rosters, material, and presentations
  • Administer orientation and courses to employees
  • Order inventory and supplies
  • Manage and oversee HSE audits and inspections
  • Manage and oversee post-incident inspections and drug testing
  • Continually strive for “Best Practice” methods by managing safety KPI’s
  • Communicate and provide leadership with Arch’s equipment and vehicles champion to meet or exceed safety metrics.

Reporting Relationship:

  • The HSE Specialist will take primary direction from the President and the Operations Business Manager.

Authority:

  • Authority will be determined as job skills and requirements are assessed.

Standards of Performance:

  • The job performance of the HSE Specialist will be determined by Managers, Risk Reduction as well as a company-wide peer review.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years HSE experience.
  • Strong communication skills and computer skills to efficiently work remotely.
  • Self-motivated, ambitious and eager to learn.
  • The ability to work effectively independently and within a team.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
  • OSHA 510 Certification (Preferred)

 

Working Days:

  • Monday through Friday with flexibility to be on call for potential weekend safety incidents.
